A Flyback allows a user to operate the chronograph without resetting it to zero each time. The flyback allows the chronograph hand to be stopped, reset, and restarted at the touch of a button. This feature is essential for timing an elapsed interval of events during races.
This watch features the FC-760 - Mechanical Self-Winding Movement, which is 30 mm in size and 7.9 mm thick. This timepiece consists of 233 parts and 32 jewels and runs at 28800 alt/h (4 Hz). This calibre displays Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Date, Chronograph and is equipped with a Flyback Chronograph. Three counters are placed at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock with the 30 minute counter, the date by hand and the small seconds respectively.
An unmistakable feature of high quality chronograph is a bearing column wheel that controls the three "start, stop and reset" functions. By pressing the push-button only once, the timer starts again from zero. In this case, the pushbutton at 4 o'clock and the corresponding mechanism ensures that three tasks are performed very quickly one after the other: first, the clutch is disengaged; second, the chronograph is reset to zero by means of the one-piece hammer, whose slanting surfaces rotate the two zero reset hearts so that the hands are positioned vertically again; and third, the clutch is engaged again as soon as the pushbutton is released.
