Seiko 5 Sports collection:
Seiko 5 Sports has been revived with the creation of a new collection. The design is inspired by one of Seiko's most popular sports watches, the Seiko Sportmatic 5, from the 60's, which has been synonymous with great reliability, durability and performance for over 50 years at a price that has appealed to mechanical watch enthusiasts worldwide. The '5' stood for the promise that each Seiko 5 timepiece featured 5 essential features: automatic calibre, day-date display at the 3 o'clock position, water resistance, an embedded crown at the 4 o'clock position and a solid case and strap. The new design features a modernized version of the renowned case, the well-known arrow-shaped hands, the characteristic 3D hour markers and the one-sided rotating bezel. The collection is divided into 5 special style lines: Sports, Suits, Specialist, Street and Sense.
Automatic movement:
A mechanical watch automatically recharges itself when worn by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the main spring of the watch to excite. This spring is the source of energy.
Caliber 4R36:
The 4R36 Seiko caliber with day/date display is a mechanical caliber. The watch automatically recharges itself during wear by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the main spring of the watch to excite. This spring is the source of energy. Hand-winding is also possible. When fully charged, the watch has an energy reserve of approx. 41 hours. The ticking number of this machine is 21,600 per hour and the watch has 24 jewels. The 4R calibre is manufactured entirely in-house.
