The new Astron GPS Solar is a tribute to the original Quartz Astron from 1969. With a design that distinguishes itself - just like the original - by the curved lines of a slender cabinet, the wide 'lugs' and the narrow bezel. A classic design that resists the ravages of time, combined with highly advanced technology.
Astron's highly advanced practical features and sporty-business elegance are combined with a beautiful blue-to-black dial.

Caliber 5X53
Seiko introduces the new 5X GPS Solar caliber. The world's most advanced GPS Solar caliber ever. The new Astron GPS Solar is faster, even easier to operate and offers better reception. Energy consumption has also been optimized.
The Seiko 5X53 caliber is the prestigious analog GPS Solar DualTime caliber. This watch can be set to the correct time zone anywhere in the world at the touch of a button, displaying the correct local time. On the dial, the GPS signal indicator shows if the watch is connecting to the global GPS network. It also shows how many satellites the Watch is connecting to. Connecting to at least 4 satellites is required to determine the correct time zone. When fully charged, the watch connects to one satellite up to twice a day to correct the time. As a result, the 5X53 GPS Solar watch is extremely accurate and has a deviation of only 1 second per 100,000 years. If necessary, the local time can also be changed manually.
The smart Perpetual Calendar function ensures that the watch always shows the correct date up to the year 2100. The watch has an in-flight mode, daylight saving time can be adjusted automatically and a second time can be set. The second time is displayed in a 12h window with a separate AM/PM indicator. With the TimeTransfer function, the display of the two times can be changed by a simple operation.
The built-in watch micro-GPS receiver consumes so little energy that all functions operate optimally on light energy generated by the Solar watch face.
